What exactly is the Rose Festival?
The Rose Festival is a temporary exhibition of hundreds of thousands of beautiful roses processed into mosaics, rosaries and objects in and around downtown Lottum.
Where is the Rose Festival held?
The Rose Festival begins on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 17:00 pm and lasts until Monday, August 13. 23:00.
What are the hours?
The Rose Festival is open Friday, August 10 from 17:00 to 23:00 and from Saturday 11 to Monday, August 13 from 10:00 to 23:00.
Is the Rose Festival is a flower parade?
No, the Rose Festival is not a parade. You can choose to wander along a scenic route at your own pace leading around the attractive Market Square, the masterfully decorated church, around the majestic little castle “Borggraaf”, the rosary all close to the beautifully meandering Maas river.
What's to see at the Rose Festival?
Roses, roses and roses again, that's what the Rose Festival is all about! Millions of rosebuds cut at Lottum’s rose fields and thousands of roses are processed in enchanting mosaics, show gardens and beautifully decorated objects. There are also hundreds of vases with fragrant garden roses from Lottum, a wide range of greenhouse roses and the Top Rose and ADR rosary.
What is the theme of the next Rose Festival?
The theme of the Rose Festival in 2012 is "Roses connect cultures." The whole festival will be decorated around this theme.
During the Rose Festival can I get information on the care of roses?
Yes, of course. During the Rose Festival is a rose doctor will be present to answer your questions about the care of roses. In which case you should not forget to attend to the rose care demonstrations.
What is the entrance fee to the Rose Festival?
Entry to the Rose Festival is € 12.50 per person. For groups of 15 persons, entry costs € 11.00 per person. Group tickets for the festival are to be booked through info@rozendorp.nl
(Parking, ferry crossing and toileting are free)
How much is a festival pass?
A festival pass costs € 25.00 and gives you daily access to the Rose Festival. (Parking, crossing on the ferry and toileting are free)
How long is festival walking route?
The route is approximately 3 km in total. There are, however, adequate resting places and seats en route.
Is there food and beverage available at the festival?
There are plenty of places to eat and drink on the premises. For groups there is a possibility to reserve for lunch/dinner. (More information will follow soon)
Where can I park?
The parking for the Rose Festival will be clearly indicated. There are traffic controllers that lead you to the parking. Parking for the Rose Festival and the possible ferry crossing is free.
Are wheelchairs available?
Yes, there are wheelchairs available. You will be advised to book them in advance through info@rozendorp.nl
Dogs are allowed on the Rose Festival?
Yes, dogs are allowed except in the church.
Can I take the bike on the premises?
No, bikes are not permitted on the premises during the Rose Festival. At the entrance ample parking for cyclists is available.
Can I take the mobility scooter (for the disabled) on to the festival grounds?
Yes, but for mobility scooters special rules apply. These can be obtained through info@rozendorp.nl
Is Lottum open for transport during the Rose Festival?
The centre of Lottum will be completely closed for traffic from 6 to 15 August because of the Rose Festival. Traffic will be diverted. Besides volunteers of the Rose Festival during the building week nobody will be admitted to the festival site. Please keep this in mind when visiting Lottum.
How to reach Lottum by public transportation?
On www.9292ov.nl you can easily find how to use public transport to travel to Lottum. It is not yet clear whether, during the Rose Festival extra public transport services are deployed.
When is the Rose Festival is always held?
The Rose Festival is held every two years. Every even-numbered year during the second weekend of August. In 2012, the Rose Festival takes place from 10 to 13 August.
Can a company become sponsor of the Rose Festival?
Sponsors are essential to the Rose Festival to be organized. For companies interested in sponsoring, sponsorship packages are offered. These can be obtained through info@rozendorp.nl
The Rozenhof/Rose Knowledge Centre is accessible during the Rose Festival?
The Rozenhof/Rose Knowledge Centre will not be accessible to visitors from 6 to August 15. Of course you may contact us by phone. The Rosary with its Top and ADR-roses is open during the Rose Festival.
