ADR Roses

Logo ADR RoosSince 2009, all varieties of ADR-roses (Allgemeine Deutsche Rosenneuheitenprüfung) are added to the rosary. This certification exists in Germany already since 1950. The ADR examinations are considered the most stringent tests worldwide and captured significant market value since its founding.
The "ADR-Rose" is managed by an association of representatives of the BdB (Federal German Nurseries), rose growers and representatives of independent assessment gardens. The brand was created in 1950 to select the best roses in the German climate, to stand out in health and elegance from the rest.
To qualify for the predicate "ADR rose", the roses are checked during three years. These inspections are carried out in 11 rosaries in Germany. Submissions are judged according to 13 criteria, including: winter hardiness, flowering richness and duration, degree of cover, growth habit, bud and flower form, flowering impression, leaf coverage, colour from opening up to death of flower, health, disease resistance, clean-ups, posture of flowers, smell and overall impression.
All test results are then discussed at a joint annual conference.
As with the Dutch Top Roses use of chemical pesticides is not allowed.
